UNVEILING THE FORMULATION OF METHYLXANTHINES AS BRONCHODILATOR DRUGS
Keywords:
Methylxanthines, Bronchodilator Drugs, FormulationAbstract
This study delves into the formulation intricacies of methylxanthines, a class of bronchodilator drugs widely used to manage respiratory conditions such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Methylxanthines' multifaceted mechanisms of action contribute to their bronchodilatory effects, encompassing adenosine receptor antagonism and phosphodiesterase inhibition. Through a comprehensive review of existing literature and pharmaceutical formulations, this research elucidates the diverse strategies employed to optimize the delivery, bioavailability, and therapeutic efficacy of methylxanthine bronchodilators. Intricacies in formulation design, including sustained-release mechanisms, combination therapies, and dosage forms, are explored. Furthermore, this study addresses challenges in balancing effectiveness and minimizing side effects within the context of methylxanthine formulation. The insights garnered underscore the importance of formulation precision in enhancing the clinical utility of methylxanthine bronchodilator drugs.
