FEAR: A DEFENSE MEANS OR A BARRIER? PSYCHOLOGICAL ANALYSIS AND EMPIRICAL RESEARCH

This article presents a scientific analysis of the bipolar nature of the emotion of fear. Fear is one of the oldest and most universal emotions in human history, which, on the one hand, is a biological mechanism that preserves life, and on the other hand, a psychological barrier that hinders personal and social development. The article studies the neurological basis of fear, its evolutionary function, clinical manifestations, and its impact on the quality of life of an individual based on empirical data.
