Abstract

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is frequently associated with lipid metabolism disorders that significantly increase the risk of cardiovascular complications. Diabetic dyslipidemia, characterized by elevated triglycerides, increased low-density lipoproteins (LDL), and reduced high-density lipoproteins (HDL), plays a central role in the development of atherosclerosis. The present article provides a clinical analysis of lipid profile parameters in patients with T2DM and evaluates their pathophysiological mechanisms and prognostic significance. Special emphasis is placed on the relationship between glycemic control and lipid abnormalities, as well as their contribution to cardiovascular risk. The findings highlight the importance of early detection and correction of dyslipidemia as part of comprehensive diabetes management.
