Abstract

The concept of the cultural code occupies an important place in contemporary humanities and social sciences, as it provides a framework for understanding cultural meaning, communication, and identity. This article examines the scientific interpretation of the cultural code through an interdisciplinary analysis of theoretical approaches in semiotics, linguocultural studies, cultural studies, sociology, and anthropology. The research is based on a qualitative analysis of classical and modern scholarly sources that conceptualize culture as a system of signs, symbols, values, and norms.

The results demonstrate that despite disciplinary differences, cultural codes are consistently understood as shared systems that regulate meaning-making processes and ensure cultural continuity. Semiotic approaches emphasize the role of cultural codes in decoding texts and symbols, while linguocultural perspectives highlight their manifestation in language and discourse. Sociocultural interpretations focus on the regulatory and identity-forming functions of cultural codes within society. The study confirms that the cultural code is a multidimensional and dynamic construct that integrates symbolic, linguistic, and social elements. The findings contribute to a more systematic scientific understanding of the cultural code and its significance in cultural communication and interpretation.
