Abstract

Mystery narratives, commonly associated with fiction, play a significant role in academic literature by structuring information to stimulate inquiry, critical thinking, and engagement. This study examines the application of mystery-inspired structures in scholarly texts, highlighting temporal manipulation, delayed resolution, and investigative reasoning as core elements. Drawing on narratological theories and computational annotations from prior research, this paper explores how these narrative techniques enhance comprehension, model argumentative progression, and support both literary and computational analyses. Findings suggest that adopting mystery structures in academic writing aligns with the cognitive process of knowledge construction, offering pedagogical and analytical advantages.
