Abstract

The article explores the mechanisms and practices of state support for innovation activities based on international experience and their potential adaptation to the conditions of Uzbekistan. It analyzes the role of government policy in fostering innovation-driven growth, emphasizing the importance of institutional, financial, and infrastructural support. Comparative analysis of successful innovation support models in developed and developing countries highlights key instruments such as tax incentives, innovation grants, public–private partnerships, and national innovation funds. The study identifies opportunities and challenges for Uzbekistan in building an effective innovation ecosystem aligned with global standards. Recommendations are proposed to enhance the effectiveness of government innovation policies and to strengthen the link between research, business, and state institutions.
