This article explores the communicative and task-based approaches (TBA) in English language teaching and learning. Both methods emphasize real-life communication, learner interaction, and practical task execution rather than rote memorization or grammar drills. Through a review of relevant literature and classroom-based studies, the paper highlights how these methods promote speaking fluency, critical thinking, and learner autonomy. Findings indicate that combining communicative language teaching (CLT) with task-based learning (TBL) creates a dynamic and effective environment for English language acquisition, especially for non-native speakers at the beginner and intermediate levels.
