As computer technologies advance, various forms of electronic text have become increasingly popular in daily life. The rise of the internet has transformed communication methods, establishing itself as a primary tool for human interaction and information exchange. From its early roots in the 1800s with telegraph operators using Morse code to the military networks of the 1960s, the internet has evolved into a global communication hub. The emergence of social networks and digital messaging platforms has significantly influenced linguistic norms, leading to new communication styles and structures. This paper explores the historical development of virtual communication, the influence of social networks on linguistic practices, and the unique characteristics of online discourse.
