Abstract

This paper examines the integration of traditional and modern methodologies within the field of translation studies. It focuses on the evolution of translation theory through the comparative, cognitive, functional, and discourse approaches, and evaluates their relevance in today’s technologically advanced, multicultural translation landscape. Emphasis is placed on how these methodologies interact with cultural awareness and machine translation tools. By revisiting the foundational work of scholars such as Komissarov, Fedorov, and Nida, and juxtaposing it with recent advancements, the paper offers a theoretical framework for future translation research and pedagogy.
