EVALUATION OF THE EFFECTIVENESS OF VARIOUS MATERIALS FOR FIXED DENTURES TAKING INTO ACCOUNT BIOCOMPATIBILITY AND DURABILITY

Abstract

In recent decades, there has been a significant increase in the use of fixed dentures in dentistry, which is due to the development of materials science and increased requirements for the aesthetics and functionality of restorative structures. This article provides a comparative analysis of the effectiveness of various materials for the manufacture of fixed dentures with an emphasis on their biocompatibility and durability. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the physical and mechanical properties, biological safety and clinical suitability of ceramic, metal and composite materials used for dental prosthetics [1].

The work used experimental methods, including mechanical tests (strength, wear resistance, corrosion resistance) and biological tests (assessment of cytotoxicity, interaction with mucous membrane tissues). The results showed that ceramic materials have high aesthetic appeal and sufficient biocompatibility, but their fragility limits durability under high chewing loads. Metal-ceramic systems demonstrate a balance between mechanical strength and aesthetics, and modern composite materials are a promising direction due to the possibility of fine-tuning their properties to individual patient characteristics. Based on the data obtained, an algorithm for choosing a material for prosthetics is proposed, taking into account the clinical situation and individual patient parameters. The final conclusion emphasizes that the combined use of materials can contribute to an increase in the overall effectiveness of fixed dentures. The presented results are of practical importance for optimizing prosthetic structures and can serve as a basis for further research in the field of biocompatibility of restorative materials [2].
