Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a medical condition characterized by hyperglycemia, a sugar level higher than normal. This is due to a lack of the hormone insulin. Diabetes is a lifelong disease that requires lifelong treatment. In patients who are not fully treated and have high blood glucose levels for a long time, vascular complications of diabetes - diabetic angiopathies (macro and microangiopathies) are manifested.
