The endocrine system coordinates the functions of various organs through hormones, which are chemicals that are released into the bloodstream from specialized cells found inside the endocrine glands (endocrine glands). Endocrine glands release hormones into the bloodstream. This lets the hormones travel to cells in other parts of the body[1,2]. Endocrine glands release hormones into your bloodstream. Your endocrine glands influence reproduction, metabolism, growth and many other functions. The endocrine system is made up of glands that make hormones. Hormones are the body's chemical messengers. They carry information and instructions from one set of cells to another.
