Abstract

This article highlights the lexicography of music terminology and the differences between various dictionaries. The article deeply analyzes the differences between Ilyas Akbarov's Music Dictionary, Oxford Companion to Music and The Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians. In the research is used several methods, including comparative methodology, content analysis and contextual analysis, which clearly expose approaches to understanding and interpreting musical terms. The article highlights the importance of musical terminology in scientific and applied research, emphasizes the significance of correct interpretation of terms in different genres and contexts of music. Thus, the unique approach of each dictionary is important for understanding the scientific and cultural aspects of music.
