INCIDENCE AND RISK FACTORS FOR OVERWEIGHT IN CHILDREN WITH COMMUNITY-ACQUIRED PNEUMONIA

The aim of the study was to identify the incidence and risk factors for overweight in children with community-acquired pneumonia. When analyzing anthropometric data, we found that 30.0% of children with community-acquired pneumonia were overweight. The incidence of overweight among children with community-acquired pneumonia is 13.5%. The article presents the results of studies aimed at identifying the most significant risk factors for the development of metabolic syndrome, among which the main role is played by medical and biological (chronic diseases of the mother and father, age of the parents at the time of the child's birth, complications of pregnancy and childbirth), genetic, biological and epidemiological factors, as well as the child's lifestyle.
