Abstract

Culture shock is a natural part of adjusting to a new cultural environment. It occurs when individuals become aware of the contrasts in values and customs between their native culture and the one they’re currently in. Common emotions associated with culture shock include anxiety, confusion, homesickness, and sometimes frustration.
