Adolescence represents a distinct period of rapid physical, cognitive, and emotional development. This transition creates a unique set of challenges for young people. These psychological burdens have the potential to negatively impact adolescent health and well-being. In response to these concerns, fostering adaptive coping mechanisms and emotional regulation skills emerges as a crucial factor in mitigating the negative effects of stress. This articles will examine the theoretical frameworks and empirical evidence supporting the development of a specific cognitive capacity. This capacity, envisioned as a protective shield, would equip adolescents to navigate the challenges of stress and depression.
