This paper explores the development of productive speaking activities grounded in the principles of Communicative Language Teaching (CLT). The aim is to enhance learners’ communicative competence by designing tasks that simulate real-life communication, encourage interaction, and promote learner autonomy. The study discusses key characteristics of effective speaking tasks, including task authenticity, learner-centeredness, and meaningful communication. Various strategies such as role plays, information gap activities, problem-solving tasks, and discussions are analyzed for their pedagogical value. The findings highlight that CLT-based speaking activities significantly contribute to improving learners’ fluency, confidence, and motivation in using the target language.
