Abstract

The article explores the role of the native language in teaching Russian in national schools. The theoretical aspects of linguistic interaction—interference and positive transfer—are examined. The benefits of utilizing the native language are highlighted, including facilitating the acquisition of new concepts, reducing language barriers, and preserving cultural identity. The challenges analyzed include interference, phonetic transfer, and a shortage of educational materials. Methodological recommendations are proposed for integrating the native language into Russian language instruction. The article is addressed to educators and researchers in the field of bilingual education.
