Abstract

One of the pressing issues of modern education is the proper organization of independent learning. The processes and effectiveness of independent learning are recognized worldwide, as the knowledge gained only in lectures is insufficient for the full mastery of a discipline. This article examines the role of independent learning, its essence, its impact on students' professional development, and the criteria for assessing skills in working with educational materials. It highlights levels of student independence as well as key competencies necessary for the successful acquisition of knowledge.
