Abstract

This article analyzes the theoretical and practical aspects of developing national (general cultural) competencies among students studying in the field of traditional vocal performance. The study explores the formation of aesthetic thinking, artistic taste, creative thinking, and national identity awareness in students based on maqom, traditional songs, and the national musical heritage. In addition, teaching methods based on an integrative approach, the master-apprentice tradition, as well as interactive and digital technologies are scientifically examined. The results of experimental work demonstrate a significant improvement in students’ performance skills and their spiritual and aesthetic worldview. The article contributes to the improvement of modern music education methodology.
