Abstract

This scholarly article examines the life and intellectual legacy of Abu Hanifa Nu‘man ibn Thabit through the integration of juridical (fiqh) and theological (aqidah) approaches. The study analyzes Abu Hanifa’s theological views alongside his fiqh methodology, his contribution to the science of kalam, and his positions on issues related to creed and faith, based on primary sources. In addition, the article provides a scholarly discussion of the influence of the theological school founded by Abu Hanifa on the subsequent formation of the Maturidi doctrine.
