The Southeast Asian region is playing an increasingly important role in global politics, economics and security. Its strategic geographical location, rapidly developing economies, demographic potential and active participation in regional and international organizations such as ASEAN make it a significant actor in a multipolar world. The article examines the geopolitical, economic and cultural aspects of the region's importance, and analyzes the challenges and prospects for its development in the context of globalization.
