Abstract

This article examines the important role of physical education in shaping gender culture and challenging harmful stereotypes among students in Uzbekistan. Although Uzbekistan has made strides in promoting gender equality, traditional societal norms often perpetuate gender stereotypes that limit opportunities for both male and female students. This article examines how physical education in its various forms can serve as a powerful tool for promoting gender equality, positive gender relations, and challenging deeply ingrained stereotypes related to physical abilities, roles, and expectations in the university environment. It will analyze the current state of gender representation and participation in physical activity in Uzbek universities, identify existing barriers and opportunities, and offer practical strategies for creating inclusive physical education programs that empower students to challenge gender norms and create a more equitable and inclusive society.
