Abstract

This research explores the semantic features of aphorisms in the English language in comparison with those in Russian and Uzbek. Aphorisms, as concise and expressive statements, reflect the worldview, cultural values, and linguistic peculiarities of a nation. The study analyzes similarities and differences in the semantic structure, metaphorical usage, and pragmatic functions of aphorisms across the three languages. Special attention is given to the influence of national mentality and cultural context on the interpretation and usage of aphorisms. By comparing these languages, the research aims to highlight the universal and culture-specific aspects of aphoristic expressions.
