REVIVAL AND POPULARIZATION OF NATIONAL SPORTS AND GAMES IN HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS OF UZBEKISTAN AS A FACTOR IN PRESERVING CULTURAL IDENTITY

The article is devoted to the study of the role of national sports and games in higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan as a factor in preserving cultural identity. The historical context of the development of national sports and games in Uzbekistan is analyzed, their role in the formation of students' cultural identity is considered. Specific measures are proposed to revive and popularize national sports and games, which will have a positive impact on the formation of a sense of pride in the country, strengthening ties between generations, developing creative potential and forming a healthy lifestyle among students.
