This article analyzes the current issues of methodology for working with text in primary school mother tongue and reading literacy lessons. It highlights effective pedagogical approaches aimed at developing students' skills in understanding, analyzing, and interpreting texts. The research is examined from the perspective of the priority tasks in education outlined in the "Uzbekistan-2030" strategy, particularly the necessity of forming students' critical thinking and creative abilities. The article proposes innovative methods for text work based on modern educational standards and substantiates their practical significance. The findings contribute to improving the quality of primary education.
