STUDYING THE HARMFUL ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF DRILLING AND BLASTING OPERATIONS IN MINES
Keywords:
Drilling and blasting operations, ecological hazard, atmospheric pollution, dust and gas cloud, explosive, reclamation, mining ecology, biosphere, vibration, noise.Abstract
This article analyzes the harmful environmental impact of drilling and blasting operations widely used in the mining industry. Dust, gases (CO2, NO2, CO, and others), noise, and vibrations generated during the blasting process negatively affect the biosphere, particularly the air, water, and soil environments. It has also been determined that explosive residues contaminate groundwater and damage landscapes and biodiversity. The article substantiates the necessity of implementing dust suppression technologies, using environmentally safe explosives, planning blasting operations based on meteorological conditions, and carrying out reclamation work to reduce ecological risks.
