ISSUES IN COMPILING AN EXPLANATORY DICTIONARY OF TERMS IN ALISHER NAVOI’S “MAHBUB UL-QULUB”

Abstract

This article analyzes the language and lexical composition of Alisher Navoi’s masterpiece Mahbub ul-qulub from a lexicographical perspective. The study discusses the challenges that arise in the process of compiling an explanatory dictionary. In addition, it highlights the possibilities of creating a digital explanatory dictionary of Mahbub ul-qulub and the scientific significance of using computational linguistics and modern technologies for the automatic analysis of Navoi’s language. The article emphasizes the importance of interpreting the vocabulary of Navoi’s works to study the historical layers of the Uzbek language and to analyze the nation’s spiritual heritage on a scientific basis.
