Hospital-acquired infections (HAIs) remain a major global public health challenge, causing increased morbidity, prolonged hospitalization, higher treatment costs, and increased mortality. This study highlights the significance of hygienic and epidemiological approaches in preventing HAIs. Effective hand hygiene, proper sterilization of medical equipment, and the use of personal protective equipment significantly reduce the risk of infection. In addition, epidemiological surveillance helps identify infection sources and transmission pathways, allowing for timely intervention. Research findings show that urinary tract infections, surgical site infections, and pneumonia are the most common types of HAIs, with poor compliance with hand hygiene being a leading contributing factor. Strengthening infection control protocols, conducting regular staff training, and implementing unified national guidelines are essential strategies to reduce HAIs and improve patient safety. The integration of hygiene practices and epidemiological monitoring is crucial for achieving sustainable infection control within healthcare facilities.
