Abstract

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into foreign language learning has marked a transformative shift in educational practices. This paper investigates how AI technologies—ranging from intelligent tutoring systems and natural language processing tools to chatbots and adaptive feedback platforms—are reshaping the way learners acquire new languages. Drawing upon recent studies, this research highlights both the pedagogical benefits and inherent challenges of AI-based language instruction. Findings suggest that AI enhances learner autonomy, engagement, and personalized instruction, while also raising concerns regarding accessibility, teacher readiness, and ethical considerations. This study aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of AI’s current role in foreign language education and its potential future directions.
